LARRY LEVINE, President of UNA Monterey Bay Chapter, will speak on:
UNA: MISSION, MEMBERSHIP AND A LITTLE FUN
The talk will cover the building and strengthening of a chapter's programs
of membership, education and advocacy and will also appraise the present
mission and role of UNA-USA at the national level. Discussion will follow.
Lany Levine is widely recognized for his accomplishments across the USA as being the number one grass roots leader of the UNA. Raised in upstate New York, he is a graduate of Princeton and received his Master's Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University. He participated in Model UN in his high school for three years and was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Brazil He has lived on the Monterey Peninsula for the past 25 years and is a consultant to non-profits and local agencies. Since becoming President of his local UNA chapter in 1999, the chapter has grown from 140 to well over 700 members (2nd largest in the nation). Larry serves on the national board of directors of the UNA-USA and is also national chair of UNA's grass roots chapters and divisions. He regularly attends meetings and conferences at the UN and UNA-USA in New York City.
